CHANDIGARH,25.06.22-This is the first of its kind program in India where you may find a diversity of cultures, nations and experiences along with the learnings of public health management and leadership principles,said Dr. Ashok Bhardwaj, Chairman, National Task Force, National Tuberculosis Program, GoIGuest of Honour during the valedictory ceremony of the 6-dayInternational Public Health Management Development Program (IPHMDP) organized by the Department of Community Medicine and School of Public Health, PGIMER, Chandigarh in collaboration with the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation Program under the Ministry of External Affairs, Govt. of India from 20^thto 25^thJune, 2022 at Hotel Park View, Chandigarh.He congratulated the PGIMER team for the success of the program. 45 Senior Officials including Physicians, academicians and public health managers from Nepal Through this program, This program participated in the program which aimed to enhance their skills and competencies for addressing public health challenges and strengthening the efficiency of organizations in resource constrained settings.

Highlighting the uniqueness and salient features of the program, Dr. Rana J Singh, Deputy Regional Director, The UNION-SEA office, Guest of Honour in the event talked about the role of public health management and leadership in attaining health related goals of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This program will help all the participants in contributing towards “Health in All Policies”, he further added.

Sharing the key attractions of the 6-day program, Dr. Sonu Goel, Director of the Program and Professor, Department of Community Medicine and School of Public Health mentioned that the Program also included 2-day Study Tour to Shimla to demonstrate the best Public Health Practices being practised at various levels of health care. This study tour provided the participants an opportunity to observe the Integration of various national programs along with the demonstration of telemedicine service and digital program monitoring system. The concept of ‘Tobacco Free Village’ was also introduced to the participants.

Among the key dignitaries, Maj. Gen. Prof Atul Kotwal, Executive Director, National Health System Resource Centre (NHSRC) New DelhiDr. Sanjiv Kumar, Former Executive Director, IIHMR, andNHSRC, New Delhi; Dr. Rajni Bagga and Dr. Ajay Sood from National Institute of Health and Family Welfare, New Delhi and Dr. SN Panda, Dr. SN Panda, Professor and Director Research, Chitkara University research and innovation network, Chitkara University graced the program.
