One arrested for possessing illicit liquor

District Crime Cell of Chandigarh Police arrested Prem R/o Village Moraghat, Distt. Khargria, Bihar (Age 20 years) and recovered 14 boxes of whiskey (English liquor) from his possession in Chevrolet car No. PB-10CR-7829 near small chowk, Sector 37/38, Chandigarh on 18.06.2022. A case FIR No. 97, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh. Later he was bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Action against Gambling/Satta

Chandigarh Police arrested Mohammad Rajinder R/o # 2881, DMC, Sector-38 West, Chandigarh while playing satta and recovered cash Rs. 1930/- from his possession near Taxi Stand, Sector 38(west), Chandigarh on 18.06.2022. A case FIR No. 67 dated 18.06.2022 U/S 13A-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-Maloya, Chandigarh. Later he was bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Dowry

A lady resident of Sector 41, Chandigarh alleged that her husband & others resident of Karnal (HR) harassed the complainant to bring more dowries. A case FIR No. 56 dated 18.06.2022, U/S 406, 498-A IPC has been registered in PS-Women, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A lady resident of Dhanas, Chandigarh alleged that her husband & others residents of Fatehabad (HR) harassed the complainant to bring more dowries. A case FIR No. 57 dated 18.06.2022, U/S 406, 498-A IPC has been registered in PS-Women, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A lady resident of Sector-126, SAS Nagar (PB) alleged that her husband resident of Sector-41, Chandigarh harassed the complainant to bring more dowries. A case FIR No. 58 dated 18.06.2022, U/S 406, 498-A IPC has been registered in PS-Women, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Abetment to suicide

A case FIR No. 47, U/S 406, 306, 120B IPC has been registered in PS-19, Chandigarh on the direction of Hon’ble PB & HR Court in petition filed by complaint lady resident of Delhi against Ajmer Singh Bhullar and others wherein it is alleged that her husband Arun Sharma committed suicide after leaving suicide note in car near Govt. Model High School, Sector-20, Chandigarh on 03.12.2016. The suicide note was sent for CFSL report. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Accident

A case FIR No. 74, U/S 279, 323 IPC has been registered in PS-26, Chandigarh on the complaint of Ved Parkash R/o # 4076, Sector-46D, Chandigarh who alleged that driver of Mahindra Pick-up No. CH-01TB-2086 namely Manoj Kumar R/o Village Daria, Chandigarh rashly & negligently driven his vehicle and also hit the complainant (pedestrian) near Booth No. 21, Old Market, Sector-7C, Chandigarh on 04.06.2022. The alleged person also quarreled with the complainant. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A case FIR No. 119 U/S 279, 304-A IPC has been registered in PS-36, Chandigarh on the statement of Ajit Kumar R/o # 2576, Sector-52, Chandigarh who reported that unknown vehicle sped away after hitting to complainant’s uncles namely Raj Kishore and Bittu going on a cycle at dividing road, Sector 42/43, Chandigarh on 18.06.2022. Victim Raj Kishore (Age 40 years) and Bittu (age 32 years) both got injured and were admitted in GMSH-16 and GMCH-32, Chandigarh, where they were declared brought dead. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Cheating

A case FIR No. 80 dated 18.06.2022, U/S 420 IPC has been registered in PS-Mauli Jagran, UT, Chandigarh on the complaint of Charan Singh R/o # 57, Village Raipur Khurd, Chandigarh against a lady resident of Raipur Khurd, Chandigarh wherein it is alleged that complainant purchased H.No. 71, Tribune Colony, Raipur Khurd, Chandigarh from alleged lady vide agreement dated 01.01.2020. Complainant paid whole sale amount i.e. 95,00,000/- on 22.02.2021 and alleged person executed GPA, Will, Affidavit etc. in favor of complainant after receiving final payment. Later the alleged person refused to transfer ownership to the complainant and sell the property to some other persons who forcibly entered said premises. Investigation of the case is in progress.
