Crime Branch Chandigarh Police arrested Wasim R/o # 1063, Village Burail, Chandigarh (Age-28 Years) while he was playing satta near Fire Station, Sector 17, Chandigarh on 22-01-2022. Total cash Rs. 14,200/- was recovered from his possession. A case FIR No. 13, U/S 13A-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-17, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Crime Branch Chandigarh Police arrested Saleem R/o # 2337, Phase-1, Ram Darbar, Chandigarh (Age-36 Years) while he was playing satta near fish market, Shastri Nagar, Manimajra, Chandigarh on 22-01-2022. Total cash Rs. 17,400/- was recovered from his possession. A case FIR No. 08, U/S 13A-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-IT park, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress

MV Theft

Parshant Singla R/o # 1009, Sector 15, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stole away complainant’s Yahmaha Motorcycle No. PB-31P-4532, from near complainant residence. A case FIR No. 12, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-11, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Theft

Mohinder Singh R/o # 217, Khuda Lahor, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stole away four wheels of complainant’s swift car No. CH01BA-7961, from infront of his residence on the night intervening 21-22/01.2022. A case FIR No. 05, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-Sarangpur, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A lady R/o Community Center, Sector 50, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stole away 3 gutter cover, 3 grill from community center, Sector 50 on the night intervening 21/22.01.2022. A case FIR No. 05, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-49, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Suresh Singh r/o # 51 Kaimbwal, Chandigarh reported that unknown person, who stole away the copper, brass, some cash and one LED from his scrap shop Mamraj Ka Bada, Village Kaimbawala, Chandigarh on 22.01.2022. A case FIR No. 07, U/S 457, 380 IPC has been registered in PS-03, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

One arrested in theft

Ravinder Singh R/o # 24A, Guru Nanak Colony, Budmajra, Mohali (PB), reported that Vikash R/o # 540, Dr. hardyal wali Gali No.1, Burail, Chandigarh (age 24 years) and one unknown, who were stole away AC compressor and condenser coil from SCO No. 342, Sector 44, Chandigrh on 22.01.2022 a. A case FIR No. 14, U/S 379, 411, 34 IPC has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh. One accused Vikash arrested in this case. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Cheating

A case FIR No. 08, U/S 420 IPC and 12 Passport Act has been registered in PS-03, Chandigarh on the complaint of Regional Passport Officer, Chandigarh against a girl resident of Chandigarh, who provided false information in his passport verification. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Assault

A case FIR No. 08, U/S 324, 506 IPC has been registered in PS-11, Chandigarh on the complaint of a lady resident of Chandigarh who alleged that Sonu (Husband) resident of Sector 25, Chandigarh attacked with sharp weapon at her house on 22.01.2022. Victim got injuries and admitted in GHMSH-16, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Traffic Advisory for 24.1.2022

Rehearsal for Republic Day- 2022 function shall be held on 24.1.2022 from 8.00 AM onwards at Parade Ground, Sector 17, Chandigarh. Therefore, the general public is requested to avoid the following stretch of road from 8:00 AM to 8:45 AM on 24.1.2022:-

1. From Punjab Raj Bhawan towards Sector 5-6/7-8 Chowk (Hira Singh Chowk), straight to 4/5-8/9 Chowk, straight to Sector 3/4-9/10 Chowk (New Barricade Chowk) right turn straight to Sector 1/3/4 Chowk (Old Barricade Chowk), left turn towards War Memorial, Bouganvilla Garden, Sector 3, Chandigarh.

2. From War Memorial, Bouganvilla Garden, Sector 3 towards Old Barricade Chowk, right turn towards Matka Chowk, straight to Sector 16/17 Light Point on Jan Marg, left turn towards Lyons Light Point, right turn towards Parade Ground, Sector 17, Chandigarh.

Road users are, therefore, advised to make use of alternative routes during the timings given above. Inconvenience caused to the general public on account of these restrictions is regretted. General public is requested to cooperate with the police.
