CHANDIGARH, 16.10.21-The Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, and Information and Broadcasting, Shri Anurag Thakur, along with the State Bank of India Chairman Shri Dinesh Khara inaugurated SBI Regional Business Office at District Headquarter Una, H.P.

Addressing the gathering present on the occasion, the Union Minister Shri Anurag Thakur said that State Bank of India is making significant contribution in implementing the schemes of the Government of India and providing banking services to the common citizens. The Minister especially appreciated the Bank for keeping pace with the latest technology. He expressed happiness for the people of Una on opening of the RBO of the Bank and said the Business Community as well as the common man will benefit alike from it. He said the largest Bank SBI serves the smallest customer.

The Union Minister said that maximum number of bank accounts were opened in the last few years, and more than 42.5 crore accounts were opened under the PM Jan Dhan Yojna to help people who were not linked with banking services by opening their Bank Accounts. This played important role in Financial inclusion and economic progress of the country. The Banks and MSME (Micro Small and Medium Enterprises) sector have an important role to play in realizing the Prime Minister's dream of making the country a strong economy. The new premises of the SBI Regional Business Office at Una were inaugurated by the Honourable Minister Sh. Anurag Thakur.

SBI Chairman Shri Dinesh Khara said that State Bank of India has fulfilled all responsibilities given by the Government and has also set new records in its business as a commercial institution. The Bank has fulfilled its responsibility towards the society very well and would continue to work under the Government for Nation building and progress and prosperity of the country.

On this occasion, other dignitaries Mr. Sat Pal Satti, Head, Finance Commission Himachal Pradesh, Mr. Anukul Bhatnagar- Chief General Manager, of SBI Chandigarh circle, Mr. Binod Kumar Mishra, GM, Network-3, SBI Chandigarh circle, Mr. Ajay Kumar Jha, General Manager, Chandigarh circle and Deputy General Manager, Shimla Module Mr. Pawan Kumar were present.

SBI also organized a Customer Outreach Programme at the venue.

Loan sanction letters under Mudra loans, Self-help groups, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises were distributed to about 70 beneficiaries under the Customer Outreach Programme.
