Chandigarh, September 21: Thailand Ambassador to India, Ms. Pattarat Hongtong today met Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal at his office here today to discuss possibilities to strengthen business, sports, academic, agriculture and cultural ties between Thailand and Haryana.

During the meeting, Ms. Pattarat Hongtong held extensive discussions with the Chief Minister identifying various development avenues between Haryana and Thailand. She especially sought cooperation from the Haryana Government in exploring investment possibilities in the food processing sector.

“As Haryana has one of the highest economic potentials including automobiles and agriculture sector various exchange programmes can be organized between Thailand and Haryana, asserted Ms. Pattarat Hongtong.

Ms. Pattarat Hongtong also showed keen interest in exporting the products produced by Thailand. While expressing investment interest in Haryana, Ms. Pattarat Hongtong said that possibilities should be explored to strengthen economic growth and investment ties with Haryana for progress with Thailand.

She also showed interest in getting the details about various flagship programmes and initiatives taken by the Sh. Manohar Lal led state government, after which she was apprised about Parivar Pehchan Patra, the first of its kind ambitious scheme of the Haryana Government which had been implemented in the State for bringing the benefits of all government welfare schemes under one umbrella. Under the PPP a system has been created in which each family is identified as a single unit, added Sh. Manohar Lal.

Speaking on the occasion, Sh. Manohar Lal said that the State Government is not just limited to B to B (Business to Business) or G to B (Government to Business) or G to G (Government to Government) relationship, as Haryana is the land of Gita, therefore, we believe in H to H relationship that is Heart to Heart connect, the Chief Minister asserted.

“India and Thailand have age-old social and cultural ties. I assure complete cooperation from the state government in terms of setting up industries, investment, cultural ties," said Sh. Manohar Lal.

The Chief Minister said that Haryana is a leading State in the country in many spheres. Haryana is the largest manufacturer of cars and other automobiles, along with being the leading agrarian state in India, he added.

“Haryana is one of the major exporters of car/motor vehicles. The state produces two-thirds of passenger cars, 50 percent of tractors and 60 percent of motorcycles manufactured in the country, hence possibilities can be explored in strengthening the investment ties between Haryana and Thailand in this sector, said Sh. Manohar Lal.

He further added that bilateral trade in this area may be promoted in this area too. Haryana can offer religious tourism such as "Krishna Circuit" in Kurukshetra, "Cheneti Buddhist Stupa" in Yamunanagar that focuses on providing a glimpse of the scarred land and experience religious, celestial fervour, heritage and culture.

“As Haryana is home to the biggest agricultural university in Asia that is Haryana Agriculture University which provides a robust infrastructure for student and researchers, therefore academic collaboration can be explored in this area through faculty and student exchange programs between both the regions,” added the Chief Minister.

The Chief Minister said that Haryana is the hub of sports in India. Our sports policy is adopted by many other states, said the Chief Minister while appraising the Ambassador about achievements made by Haryana in the field of sports.

He said that in the Tokyo Olympics-2020 around 40 per content of the medals were won by players of Haryana. even in paralympic Haryana is players have excelled, he added.

"Haryana is one of the key states contributing to the country's food bowl and as Thailand is known as the Kitchen of the World, therefore we welcome the Thai companies in the food processing sector and explore possibilities of setting up more industries in this sector," said the Chief Minister.

The Chief Minister said that the country's first Skill University has been set up at village Dudhola in district Palwal to ensure skilling of the youth to make them employable.

Sh. Manohar Lal said that for seeking the cooperation of other countries, a separate department named the Foreign Cooperation Department has been set up in Haryana, which is also one of its kind of steps taken by the State Government.

Chandigarh, September 21- Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal’s Twitter handle is gaining popularity day by day and is becoming peoples’ choice. Those who have raised issues on CM’s Twitter handle and have received an immediate response subsequently are retweeting and expressing gratitude to the Chief Minister.

Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to Chief Minister, Sh. Bhupeshwar Dayal informed that in the month of September five complaints were received from Faridabad, Gurugram, Kaithal, Mahendragarh and Faridabad districts. He shared that the team of the Twitter handle took immediate cognizance of these complaints and they were resolved promptly. He said that on September 2 a ticket was raised on the Chief Minister’s Twitter handle from Faridabad from the id @tarunlakhani99 wherein the person tweeting questioned the Chief Minister whether any action will be taken against the vehicle number HR-26-CW-5181? The complainant stated that the vehicle seems to be of police personnel as the police logo was present on the number plate. The complainant further rued and questioned that what will the public learn when the guardians of law, the police, is not adhering to it?

Sh. Bhupeshwar Dayal said that immediate cognizance of the tweet was taken by the Office of Chief Minister and the Traffic Police, Faridabad was informed about the tweet. The Traffic Police immediately swung into action and informed that an e-challan worth Rs 500 has been issued to Rakesh Nagarwal, the registered owner of vehicle number HR-26-CW-5181 for driving the vehicle in the wrong direction near Neelam Flyover Faridabad, after clicking a picture of the same.

Sh. Dayal said that on September 6, the complainant tweeted at @cmohry, @FTPfbd, Police_haryana, @mlkhattar and @FBDPolice at 10.39 am and said, "Thank you to Yashpal ji for cooperating, he has sent a copy of the challan today as promised. Jai Hind, Jai Bharat!".

Similarly, in another tweet raised on September 14, 2021 from Bhiwani by @vikas_chandra complaining about the menace of stray cattle and uneven, broken roads. The matter was taken up immediately and he tweeted subsequently that on the cognizance of the CM's office, the Municipal Council Bhiwani resolved the issued on priority. He elaborated that action was taken promptly and thereafter complainant retweeted on September 15 stating that "the issue has been resolved within a day, thank you." Sh. Dayal said that earlier during the month of September, five complaints had been raised on Chief Minister's Twitter handle from Yamunanagar, Panipat, Sonipat, Jhajjar and Faridabad districts and they were resolved on priority.


National Level Athletics Championship 2020-21

Chandigarh, September 21 - All India Civil Services will organize a National Level Athletics Championship 2020-21 from September 28 to 30, 2021 in Karnal district.

Giving information in this regard, a spokesperson of Sports and Youth Affairs Department said that trial of Haryana players participating in the Athletics Championship (Women/Men) will be held on September 24, 2021 at Karan Stadium, Karnal. He said that officers and officials working in all Departments and Offices will have to be present at designated place by 9 am for their selection in the competition. He said that as per the instructions of the Central Civil Services Cultural and Sports Board (CCSCSB), officers and officials of Board, Corporation, Police Department, Electricity Board and HSIDC will not participate in this competition.


Haryana Government will set up Export Promotion Bureau in the state

Chandigarh, September 21- Haryana Government will set up Export Promotion Bureau in the state to promote exports, which will provide institutional support to the exporters.

Director General, Industries and Commerce Department, Dr. Saket Kumar shared this information at the inauguration of the two-day 'Vanijya Utsav' being organized in Gurugram today.

This State-Level 'Vanijya Utsav' is being organised by the Department of Industries and Commerce and the Apparel Export Promotion Council working under the Ministry of Textiles of the Central Government on the occasion of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. Inviting the exporters present on the occasion to visit Haryana, Dr. Saket Kumar said that not only incentives are being given to the entrepreneurs and exporters in Haryana, but business environment, linkages and other government facilities are also being provided. He said that District Level Export Promotion Committee (DLEPC) has been constituted in every district of the state to facilitate exports. Similarly, a Trade Promotion Committee has been constituted at the State-Level to review all types of trade related issues like logistics, agricultural exports and service exports.

Sharing more information about the facilities and incentives being given to entrepreneurs and exporters in Haryana through a presentation, Dr. Saket Kumar said that Haryana is a fast growing economy with an export value of Rs 1,74,572 crore in the year 2020-21. He also informed that Haryana is exporting goods to USA, Saudi Arabia, UK, Germany, Nepal etc. The main districts which are exporting goods are Gurugram, Panipat, Karnal, Sonipat and Faridabad. Rice, readymade garments, handlooms and handicrafts, automobiles and their components, metal ware, machinery and parts and medicines and pharmaceutical products are mainly being exported from these districts. He said that the vision of Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi is to make India an export-oriented economy. Dr. Saket, while interacting with the exporters present in the programme, expressed hope that with the cooperation of exporters, this vision of the Prime Minister will definitely be fulfilled. Earlier, he inaugurated the exhibition of various industrial and exporting units and took a round of exhibition as well.

Director General Foreign Trade (DGFT), Ministry of Commerce, Sh. Abhimanyu Sharma informed that 'Vanijya Utsav' is being organized from September 21 to September 26 in all 739 districts of the country to showcase India's 75 years of economic progress. This event is being organized under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and this two-day State-Level programme is being organized in Gurugram in Haryana. Sh. Sharma also appreciated Haryana's Enterprise and Employment Policy-2020 and said that the State is providing favourable environment for industries to flourish.


Haryana Government has also included Healing Hospital and Institute of Medical Sciences, SCO 18-19, Subcity Centre, Sector-34 A, Chandigarh in the empanelment list of private hospitals for the treatment of state government employees/pensioners and their dependents.

Haryana Government will fill vacant posts of One Chairman and three Members of the Haryana Tax Tribunal

Chandigarh, September 21- Haryana Government will fill vacant posts of One Chairman and three Members of the Haryana Tax Tribunal.

Giving information in this regard an official spokesperson said that the tenure of the person appointed to the post of Chairman in the Tribunal would be for three years from the date of appointment or till the applicant attains the age of 68 years, whichever is earlier. Apart from this, the State Government can extend the tenure of that person for three years or it can appoint the applicant till the age of 68 years.

The spokesperson further added that the term of the person appointed as member of the Tribunal shall be for three years from the date of appointment or till the candidate attains the age of 65 years, whichever is earlier.

He said that the interested and eligible persons will have to download the proforma available on the department's website and send it to the Additional Chief Secretary of Excise and Taxation Department after filling it completely.


Haryana Police to start awareness/enforcement drive against the use of 10-year-old diesel and 15-year-old petrol vehicles

Apex court imposed a ban on such vehicles in the NCR region

Chandigarh Sept 21 - In view of the ban imposed on the operation of 10-year-old diesel and 15-year-old petrol engine vehicles in the National Capital Region, Haryana Police will conduct a special awareness/enforcement drive about the plying of old vehicles on roads in all the 14 districts falling in the NCR in the state.

Giving information in this regard here today, a Haryana Police spokesperson informed that in order to check air pollution, Hon’ble Supreme Court has imposed a ban on plying of old vehicles in Delhi NCR region. Guidelines have also been issued by the Supreme Court regarding the operation of old vehicles that have completed the prescribed time period. As per court, such category of vehicles cannot ply in 14 districts of Haryana falling in the National Capital Region. To ensure compliance of these orders, the police will make the drivers/owners aware about the ban on plying of old vehicles.

As per the guidelines, 10-years old diesel and 15-years old petrol vehicles are not allowed to operate on the roads in NCR region i.e. 14 districts of Haryana namely Faridabad, Gurugram, Nuh, Rohtak, Sonipat, Rewari, Jhajjar, Panipat, Palwal, Bhiwani, Dadri, Mahendragarh, Jind and Karnal.

He said that along with the drivers/owners, the general public will also be made aware about the directives and ban on plying of such vehicles in these districts.

As part of the awareness campaign, the owners of such vehicles will also be advised to scrap this category of vehicles as per government policy. In respect of vehicles that have completed the stipulated time period, various teams of police will inform the people in this regard by visiting taxi stands, auto markets, truck unions, vehicle sales centers and other public places.

Simultaneously, enforcement drives will be started and any vehicle flouting norms as above would be impounded.

The spokesperson also appealed to the general public not to drive old vehicles that have completed the prescribed time period and obey the directives of the Supreme Court and NGT.
