State Government committed towards welfare of the traders: CM

The traders play an important role in giving boost to the economy of the State and the State Government is committed to protect the interests of the traders. Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said this while addressing the meeting of Himachal Pradesh Veopar Mandal held at Mandi today.

He said that on the suggestions of traders, GST has been simplified from time to time, similarly GST would also be simplified in future as well, keeping in view the possibility of amendments.

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said that the State Government is considerate towards the issues of Veopar Mandal. Terming the dialogue as a solution to the problem, the Chief Minister said that in near future, a meeting of the officials of the State Veopar Mandal will be held in Shimla in the presence of the concerned departmental heads. Various issues would be discussed in the meeting and efforts would be made to resolve the issues. He said that efforts would also be made to provide relief in market fees.

Chief Minister appreciated the contribution made by the traders during the lockdown and said that immense contribution was given by the traders to the Government in providing essential food supplies to the people of the state. The traders has also made a significant role in assisting the administration in making the food supplies and essential commodities available at the doorstep of the people during the curfew.

He said that the State Government is striving to expand the international level infrastructure in the State by exploiting the immense potential available in Himachal Pradesh from tourism point of view. In this direction, priority has been given to construction of Shiv Dham in district Mandi, which is important for development of religious tourism. He said that foundation stone of Shiv Dham would be laid soon. He said that the tender process for providing the parking facility in Mandi has also been completed and the foundation stone of parking would be laid by the end of this month. Besides this, priority would also be given to the construction of grain market in the district.

MLA Jogindernagar Prakash Rana was also present in the meeting.

President, State Veopar Mandal Sumesh Sharma detailed the demands of the traders. District President, Veopar Mandal Mandi Rajesh Mahendru, welcomed Chief Minister and other dignitaries.

Deputy Commissioner Rugved Thakur, Superintendent of Police Shalini Agnihotri, Sub Divisional Magistrate Civil Sadar Mandi Navedita Negi, General Secretary State Veopar Mandal Rakesh Kalia and office bearers of District Veopar Mandal were also present in the meeting.

SHIMLA,22nd February, 2021-The BJP Government in the State ensured that pace of development goes uninterrupted even during the Covid-19 pandemic by making optimum use of information technology to perform inaugurations and foundation stones of developmental projects worth about Rs. 3500 crore. This was stated by Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur while presiding over the meeting of BJP workers of Mandi Parliamentary constituency at Mandi today.

Chief Minister said that the party also played significant role during this period by providing all possible assistance to the people of the State. He said that lakhs of people provided food kits, sanitizers and masks to the needy. He said that the people also generously contributed towards the Chief Minister Covid Fund and PM CAREs.

Jai Ram Thakur urged the party workers to ensure that BJP government again comes to power in 2022 Assembly Elections. He said that BJP government was committed for welfare of every section of society and could boast of one of the best leader of the world. He said that Congress on the other hand was a party of the particular family, which neither had a vision nor commitment to serve the nation with dedication.

Chief Minister said that the people of the State were fortunate to have the benevolence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi who considers Himachal Pradesh his second home. He said that the NDA Government under the able leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi took several historic decisions such as abrogation of Article 370 thereby making Jammu and Kashmir integral part of India. He said that abolition of Triple Talaaq and bringing in of CCA were yet other historic decisions which were possible due to the able leadership provided by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Jai Ram Thakur said that today BJP has emerged as the biggest party of the world and credit of this goes to each and every party worker. He said that it was a matter of pride for every Himachali that today BJP at National level was led by son of the soil Jagat Prakash Nadda. He said that this has entrusted big responsibility on people of Himachal Pradesh to strengthen the BJP at the State level also.

Chief Minister said that the BJP Government in the State has got massive support from the people of the State. He said that the BJP Party has not only won all the four seats in Parliamentary elections but has created a record by winning in all the 68 Vidhan Sabha areas. He said that the vote share of the BJP was maximum in the country. He said that the BJP also won both the assembly by- elections and thereafter in PRIs and ULBs elections.

Jai Ram Thakur urged the party workers to effectively disseminate the policies and programmes of the State Government upto the grass root level. He also urged the workers to have close liaison with the beneficiaries of various schemes and programmes of the State Government.

Special campaign launched for issuing Golden Card under Ayushman Bharat Yojana

Secretary Health Himachal Pradesh, Amitabh Awasthi said that under Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana a special campaign has been launched to issue Golden Card. He said that under this campaign, camps have been organized to issue cards and the department is also issuing cards by visiting the houses of eligible candidates.

He said that under this special campaign started from 19th November, 2020, Golden Cards have been issued to 29660 families (67520 persons). Golden Cards have been issued to 74.2 percent families whereas in India this figure is 49.6 percent. The Health Department has targeted to issue Golden Cards to the remaining families by 31st March, 2021.

Secretary Health said that Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana was launched by Government of India on 23rd September, 2018. This ambitious scheme is also being implemented in Himachal Pradesh from 23rd September, 2018. Under the scheme, there is a provision of free treatment facility of upto rupees five lakh on hospitalization.

He said that at present 200 hospitals in the State are registered under this scheme, out of which 64 are private hospitals. Beneficiaries can also avail free medical treatment facility anywere in the hospitals registered by other states or Union Territories across India. He said that for this scheme families have been selected based on the social, economic cast census, 2011 and National Health Insurance scheme (2014-15) and about 1579 representation have been included for free treatment. Day-care surgeries have also been included in it. Under the scheme the eligible families have been selected by the Government of India and about 4,78,985 families are eligible in the State out of which Golden Cards of 3,56,372 families have been made. He said that under the scheme 81,898 beneficiaries have received the benefit of free medical treatment worth Rs. 87.26 crore in the State.

Amitabh Awasthi said that under Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, issuing Golden Cards is a routine process and eligible families can prepare their Aadhar Cards and Ration Cards at nearest Lokmitra Kendra.

He said that due to Covid Pandemic the work of issuing Golden Card has been affected and the Cards could not be issued to the eligible families as it was mandatory for the beneficiaries to visit nearest hospital or Lokmitra Kendra to prepare the Cards. He said that under this scheme, if the beneficiary has not prepared Golden Card then the hospital issues him the Golden Card immediately at the time of treatment, so that they could avail the benefit of free treatment. He said that to know about eligibility one can contact on toll free No. 14555 and can login the website mera.pmjay.gov.in.

HPTDC adds two more Euro-VI AC Volvo Coaches in its existing fleet

A spokesperson of Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation here today said that for the convenience of the tourist the Transport wing of Corporation is operating AC Volvo Coaches on Shimla-Delhi-Shimla, Manali-Delhi-Manali and vice versa. He said that on the demand of tourists and groups the Corporation is also operating Non AC Deluxe Buses for sightseeing tours around Shimla and Manali. These buses are also operated on Shimla- Manali-Shimla and vice versa route.

He further said that HP Tourism Development Corporation had added two new Euro –VI AC Volvo Coaches in its existing fleet. He said that HPTDC is the first buyer of these Euro-VI AC Volvo Coaches in all over India.
