Chandigarh,18.01.21-1 week ago, the ABVP demanded to begin educational activities in the university and, submitted memorandum regarding the same to the Vice Chancellor.

With this, ABVP today demanded the easing up of 75% attendance criteria as there is a network problem in many places and there are some children who do not have smartphones.

ABVP President Paras Ratan said that after giving the memorandum no cognizance was taken to open the campus or library. Even clubs are open in Chandigarh but nobody is paying attention to the university.

ABVP secretary Hrishika Raj said that commercial activity has started in Chandigarh, so why is the Punjab University not being opened.

After the protest, Dean Student Welfare assured that no student will be detained on the basis of attendance, also it is expected that educational activities can be started in the university after 31 January under the new UGC guidelines.
