CHANDIGARH,29.10.20-Today (29.10.2020), SBI-Financial Inclusion and Micro Market (FIMM) signed a “Memorandum of Understanding” with National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), Haryana at Regional Office, NABARD Chandigarh for promotion of Joint Liability Groups & Self-Help Groups in the State of Haryana. Shri Chander Shekhar Sharma, General Manager, State Bank of India, (FIMM), Chandigarh and Shri Vinod Kumar Bist, General Manager, NABARD, Haryana signed the MoU in the presence of CGM NABARD Shri Sanjeev Mahajan and Shri Anukool Bhatnagar, CGM SBI, Chandigarh.

As per MoU, SBI will lay major thrust for providing hassle free credit to the eligible JLGs and conduct of financial literacy & digital camps for creating awareness among rural masses for digital payments to all eligible beneficiaries like tenant farmers/ oral lessees/sharecroppers, Small and Marginal farmers, small entrepreneurs, Self Help Groups (SHGs) members etc. The focus would be to bring the underprivileged & downtrodden section of the Society into the Banking Channel and NABARD will be providing training and handholding to ensure the success of this programme.

Shri Anil Dewani, Dy. General Manager, SBI (FIMM), Shri Parveen Kumar Nagpal, AGM SBI and Shri L.K. Mehra, DGM, NABARD, Haryana were also present. Shri Bhag Singh & Shri Sanjay Sharma, SBI, Regional Manager Sirsa & Karnal also joined through Video Conference.
