CHANDIGARH,29.10.20-The final day of the St. John’s Virtual International Debate ended with as much excitement as it had started with. The highlight of the debate was the fervor and eloquence exhibited by the participating teams. The fact that it was online, did not deter anyone! The audience was spellbound with the mature and coherent arguments. This debate has set a new benchmark for the following years. The 3- Day mega event concluded with an amazing prize distribution ceremony virtually.

The team from St. John's got the first position but forfeited it in favour of Mayo College Girls School. The final winners of the grand trophy and an INCREDIBLE cash prize of Rs 1 LAKH were the students from Mayo College Girls School.

The Runners' up prize of Rs. 25000 was bagged by the team from Welham Boys' School.

The judges, His Excellency Aman Puri, Ambassador Nalin Surie and Mr Brijendra Singh( MP) all commended the speakers and lauded the efforts of St. John's to have been able to conduct this online debate in a seamless fashion.

There was an array of prizes won by the students such as the Best Speaker in English, Best Interjector and Best Rebuttal. The Hon’ble Chief Guest. Chef Sanjeev Kapoor, congratulated the students for exhibiting great talent and also congratulated Mrs Kavita Das, Principal, St John’s High School for organizing an event which promoted international camaraderie.
