CHANDIGARH,23.10.20-The Charitra Nirman Committee of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women organised a Best Out of Waste Competition. With the overarching goal of developing unique character traits in students aligned with the dynamic objectives of education, the Committee organised this competition with the aim of instilling sensitivity towards environmental issues among students. Open to students of all streams, the competition witnessed overwhelming response. Over 100 entries were received wherein the participants purposefully used their imagination and creativity to make innovative things from waste material like broken bangles, empty plastic and glass bottles, old diyas, newspapers mirror, etc. The criteria for judgement included presentation, use of material, innovation and overall effect. Furthering the objective of the Committee to imbibing in students the qualities of compassion, empathy and giving, these aesthetically appealing items were given to poor and needy people.

Expressing appreciation for this laudable initiative of the Charitra Nirman Committee, Principal Dr. Nisha Bhargava informed that this activity aptly reflects the vision of the Committee, which is to groom students to apply educational values in their day to day lives by equipping them with right life skills and inculcating in them the qualities that build one's character.
