Chandigarh, October 22 - Haryana Deputy Chief Minister, Mr. Dushyant Chautala said that the Punjab Government is cheating farmers in the name of Minimum Support Price (MSP)of crops. If Punjab Chief Minister, Captain Amarinder Singh is truly farmer friendly, then instead of buying only wheat and paddy at MSP, Punjab should also purchase mustard, millet, pulses, sunflower, and other crops at MSP.

The Deputy Chief Minister, who also holds the portfolio of Food Supply and Consumer Affairs Department, said this while interacting with media persons today after inducting newly appointed Chairman of Housing Board Haryana, Mr. Rajdeep Phogat in his office.

In response to a query, the Deputy Chief Minister said that FCI does not procure paddy of variety 1509, so the Haryana Government has decided to procure variety 1509 of paddy on the lines of other varieties by Hafed at MSP of Rs 1888 per quintal. He said that in Haryana, five other crops are also procured at MSP at the state level instead of the MSP of the Central Government.

Later, the Deputy Chief Minister also inducted the newly appointed Chairman, Sugarfed, Mr. Ramkaran Kala and Chairman, Haryana Khadi and Village Industries Board, Mr. Ram Niwas in their respective offices. Subsequently, Mr. Chautala also inducted Mr. Pawan Kharkhauda to take charge in the Haryana Scheduled Castes Finance and Development Corporation in Sector 22, Chandigarh.

MLA, Mr. Ishwar Singh, Chief Administrator, Housing Board, Mr. Anshaj Singh and Secretary, Mrs. Mamta Sharma, besides other senior officers of the district administration and family members of newly appointed chairmen and their supporters were also present on the occasion.

Chandigarh, October 22: Haryana Sports and Youth Affairs Minister, Mr. Sandeep Singh, said that on the occasion of Haryana Diwas on November 1, 2020 the Sports Department will organize eight competitions for boys and girls of under-21 category and under-19 category at the district level. In this sports competition, standard operating norms (SOP) of social distancing will be strictly followed to deal with the corona crisis.

Mr. Sandeep Singh shared this information in a meeting organized with District Sports and Youth Affairs Officers and Coaches in Panchkula today. Director, Sports and Youth Affairs Department, Mr. SS Phulia was also present in the meeting.

He informed that in this competition, four individual games will be conducted in athletics, wrestling, boxing, badminton and four team games of hockey, kabaddi, football and handball. Apart from this, a webinar will also be organized by the Sports Department on the youth.

He said that players of the state have made their mark on the national and international level due to which the state has got the opportunity to host the Khelo India Games-2021. He directed the officers to start preparing immediately so that the Khelo India Games -2021 can be conducted successfully and wherever there is a need to strengthen the basic infrastructure that should be completed on priority. He shared his experiences of visiting the sports stadiums and other facilities built in various states of the country. He said that good facilities have been provided in many stadiums at a low budget with an excellent level of maintenance. The State Government will leave no stone unturned to make the Khelo India Games-2021 memorable, he emphasized.

He said that under the Haryana Sports & Physical Fitness Policy 2015, sportspersons have been provided with facilities like cash incentives and reservation in jobs. Haryana is emerging as a leading sports hub in the country due to the best sports policy, he added. He said that the future of sportspersons of the state is much brighter as compared to other states. The Haryana government has approved a scheme to give an incentive of Rs 5 lakh in advance to the sportspersons who have qualified for the Olympic and Paralympics Games.

Chairman of Sugarfed and MLA from Shahabad Ram Karan Kala said that he represents an Assembly constituency where the sugarcane yield is good and the Shahabad Cooperative Sugar Mill is one of the most reputed sugar mills of the country. He said that along with the income generated from sugarcane produce, such a technology has been developed so as to boost the farmers’ income from other crops as well, and it’s their objective that maximum farmers adopt this technology.

Haryana is gearing up to do away with the name of the state of Punjab from its Laws. The state government has constituted a Committee in this regard after the initiatives of Vidhan Sabha Speaker, Mr. Gian Chand Gupta.

Chandigarh, October 22 - Haryana is gearing up to do away with the name of the state of Punjab from its Laws. The state government has constituted a Committee in this regard after the initiatives of Vidhan Sabha Speaker, Mr. Gian Chand Gupta.

The committee constituted under the Chairmanship of Legal Remembrancer, Law and Justice Department and Administrative Secretary, Law and Justice Department will review and examine the amendment of the subtitles of the Acts approved under the directions given in 1968. This Committee will submit a report to the Haryana Chief Secretary within a month. The State Government has informed the Haryana Vidhan Sabha Secretariat regarding the constitution of the Committee.

According to the order issued by the Chief Secretary, Mr. Vijai Vardhan, the members of this committee will include OSD, Law and Justice Department, Deputy Secretary of Department of Political and Parliamentary Affairs, OSD (Rules) of General Administration Department. The Deputy Secretary of General Administration Department has been entrusted with the responsibility of Member Secretary of the Committee.

Haryana had inherited the laws which were in Punjab’s name and the governance in Haryana has been based on these Laws for the last 54 years. Due to which the people of the state have been demanding to change the laws in the name of Haryana.

Haryana Vidhan Sabha Speaker, Mr. Gian Chand Gupta had held a meeting with the officers of the State Government and of the Vidhan Sabha Secretariat at the Vidhan Sabha Secretariat on September 24, 2020 in this regard. The Speaker had instructed the Chief Secretary to formulate a plan so as to name all the State Laws in the name of Haryana instead of Punjab and the decision to constitute the Committee was taken in this meeting. Notably, there are 237 Laws in Haryana which are presently in the name of Punjab.

Haryana was established in the year 1966 under the Punjab Reorganisation Act. Thus, the existing Acts of Punjab at that time were enforced in Haryana. It was proposed in 1968 that Haryana would be able to make necessary amendments according to its requirement. Haryana Vidhan Sabha also got the right to remove obsolete Laws.

Haryana Police have not only started the process of attaching the properties of drug mafias but also securing conviction of offenders booked under NDPS Act

Chandigarh, October 22: To completely crush the drug menace, Haryana Police have not only started the process of attaching the properties of drug mafias but also securing conviction of offenders booked under NDPS Act through effective prosecution process and presentation of evidence before the concerned courts.

As a result, the Court of Additional District and Session Judge, Kurukshetra today sentenced two persons to 15 years of imprisonment in NDPS case. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 2 lakh on each convict, who would have to undergo 6 months additional imprisonment in case of non-payment of fine.

Giving this information here today, a spokesperson of Haryana Police said that the two accused, both residents of district Muzaffarnagar in Uttar Pradesh, were arrested by the police on April 21, 2018 in Kurukshetra district after it recovered 1400 intoxicating injection (2 ml), 600 injections (1 ml) and 240 injections (1 ml) from them.

The Court, after going through all the evidence, convicted accused Arjun Singh alias Garv and Devpushp Kumar after holding them guilty under NDPS Act and sentenced each convict 15 years imprisonment with a fine of Rs 2 lakh each.

In the next 18 months, 24 hours power supply will be provided in all the villages of Haryana:Shatrujeet Kapoor.

Chandigarh, October 22: Mr. Shatrujeet Kapoor, Chairman-cum-Managing Director of Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam and Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam said that in the next 18 months, 24 hours power supply will be provided in all the villages of Haryana.

The foresightedness of Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal has brought Bijli Nigams to a profitable situation and in this ‘Mhara Gaon-Jagmag Gaon' scheme has played a pivotal role. The line loss of Bijli Nigams which was 80 percent in last 5 years has now been reduced to around 20 percent and in future, efforts will be made to bring this up to 15 percent.

He informed that two percent of the profit earned by Bijli Nigams will be spent on Public interest. Construction of a library in the name of Sardar Patel in Kachhwa village that has been started today is the first step taken in this direction. This is the first such library of Haryana and Kachhwa village which will be constructed at a cost of Rs. 20 lakh under this scheme. In the coming time, Nigam will be setting up 40 to 50 such libraries every year.

Mr. Kapoor was addressing the villagers at the inauguration of Sardar Patel Library at village Kachhwa in Karnal district today. He said that this library will provide special benefit to the youth and children to increase their intellectual levels. About 3,000 books will be kept in this library and Gram Panchayat will constitute a committee to run this library, he said.

Mr. Kapoor said that earlier in the rural area only 12 hours power supply was provided, due to the lines losses power cuts were also done but then the Chief Minister decided to end this line losses for which the ‘Mhara Gaon Jagmag Gaon’ scheme was launched in the year 2015 from the village Dayalpura in Kurukshetra.

Presently, 4750 villages out of about 7000 villages in the state are getting 24 hours power supply. The process is underway in about 100 villages. In Kaithal, Sonipat, Palwal and Narnaul districts, the work of ‘Mhara Gaon Jagmag Gaon’ scheme is swiftly going on, he said.

He said that Haryana government has recently reduced the electricity rates, consumer spending electricity up to 200 units will have to pay Rs. 2.50 per unit and 10 paise per unit for farming, while the State government purchases electricity at Rs 4 per unit.

He informed that Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal has also announced power relief for the industries. Under this, any industrial owner who will run his operations for additional hours at night, then he will get the power supply at a lower rate of Rs.5 per unit.

Mr. Kapoor said that in the past a lot of cases of transformer theft have been reported in the state, the biggest reason for these thefts is presence of copper element in the transformers, but now the State government is replacing copper with aluminum in the transformers so as to stop the thefts.

He informed that the Bijli Vitran Nigams are now running in profit. The Nigam in the year 2017-18 has made a profit of Rs 412 crore, Rs 300 crore in the year 2018-19 and Rs 330 crore in the year 2019-20 despite the COVID-19 Pandemic. Two percent of this is to be spent under the CSR scheme as dividend. Under this, the Nigam has decided that those villages which have supported the Nigam for ‘Mhara Gaon Jagmag Gaon’ scheme, libraries will be set up in the name of Sardar Patel, number of such libraries will continue to increase in future as well.

He called upon the scientists to make more innovative efforts in this direction so that data can be exchanged globally for discoveries in the field of Agricultural Education, Medical Science, Commerce and Social Sciences.

He said that a panel discussion was organized on behalf of the Department, in which all the scientists discussed in detail about the reliability and statistical analysis of the data. He said that reliable statistical information plays an important role in regard to the measures to deal with the situation of COVID-19 pandemic.

Chandigarh, October 22 – In the upcoming Bye-Election of Baroda Assembly Constituency in Haryana scheduled for November 3, 2020, candidates or political parties will have to take prior pre-certification from the Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC) for publishing advertisements in print media on November 2 and 3, 2020.

As per the directions of Election Commission of India, no political party, candidates and any other organization or Person can get the advertisement published in the newspaper on above mentioned days without obtaining the pre-certification by the MCMC committee.

In the last phase of the election, to avoid disruption of the entire election process due to any misleading advertisements or any untoward incident happening due to any advertisement, hence pre-certification has been made necessary for the print media in the last two days. All political parties and candidates should take special care of this and should also ensure that no advertisement is published in the print media without pre-certificate of the MCMC Committee at State and District Level.

Haryana has successfully been ranked first under the Anemia Mukt Bharat (AMB) programme.

Chandigarh, October 22 – Achieving another milestone, Haryana has successfully been ranked first under the Anemia Mukt Bharat (AMB) programme. This programme launched by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and UNICEF, Haryana has been ranked first among 29 states in the country.

Haryana Women and Child Development Minister, Mrs. Kamlesh Dhanda expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal, Anganwadi workers and health workers for its success and said that the Chief Minister had started the ATAL ABHIYAAN” - Assuring Total Anemia Limit – Abhiyaan in Haryana in April 2018. Under this, a plan has been announced to reduce anemia in Haryana on the lines of Anemia Mukt Bharat, which has had remarkable outcome. A score card has been released in this regard by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare wherein Haryana has been given a score of 46.7 and has been placed at the top slot.

She said that the authorities concerned were earnestly working on the nutrition campaign for the health of women and children under the leadership of Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi and Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal. The Centre and Haryana Government are committed to develop Haryana into a healthy state by getting rid of malnutrition among children and women which has yielded positive results. The aim of the nutrition campaign is to fulfill the nutritional requirements of pregnant women and children. Apart from this, it also aims to reduce maternal mortality rate and infant mortality rate.

She said that during the nutrition fortnight, the Department of Women and Child Development organized nutrition pledge, nutrition meeting by the village panchayats, organized community programmes at the Anganwadi Centre, Hb check-up of children up 6 years of age and women, cycle rally at block level, distribution of iron tablets, vaccination through Prabhatbheri, weight and height check-up, nutrition fair, information about methods of preparing nutritious food and disseminating information about nutritious diet for pregnant women during pregnancy.

Women suffering from malnutrition and anemia are being benefitted from this campaign. This campaign is a major step to eradicate malnutrition. She said that under the nutrition campaign, people are made aware of malnutrition and anemia through Anganwadi workers and Anganwadi helpers.
