One arrested under NDPS Act

Chandigarh Police arrested Yasin Mohd. @ Kala R/o # 738, Milk Colony, Dhanas, Chandigarh (age 40 years) from near bridge, Village Dhanas to PGI Road, Chandigarh and recovered 3 kg 18 gm Poppy Husk from his possession on 21.10.2020. A case FIR No. 129 U/S 15 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-Sarangpur, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Arms Act

Crime Branch of Chandigarh Police arrested Summy R/o # 87/A, Shiva Enclave, Village Bhabhat, Zirakpur (PB) Age 23 years & Shiv Shankar @ Sonu R/o Village Jagatpura, Distt Mohali (PB) Age 22 years and recovered one country made pistol with magazine with 2 live cartridges and one desi katta along with one live cartridge from their possession near Sports Complex, Sector 50, Chandigarh on 21.10.2020. A case FIR No. 70, U/S 25-54-59 Arms Act has been registered in PS-49, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

One arrested for theft

Mahinder Singh Channa R/o # 1276, Sector-37B, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stole away one cycle from the courtyard of his house on 21.10.2020. A case FIR No. 321, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh. Later one person namely Arun Kumar R/o # 153, Village Palsora, UT, Chandigarh age 20 years has been arrested in this case. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Dowry

A lady resident of Chandigarh alleged that her husband & others resident of Delhi, harassed the complainant to bring more dowry. A case FIR No. 73, U/S 406, 498-A IPC has been registered in PS-Women, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

MV Theft

Fatehveer Singh R/o # 135/C, Village Raipur Khurd, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stole away complainant’s Maruti zen Car No. CH01-AJ-9509 parked near open ground Tribune Colony, Raipur Khurd, Chandigarh between 12.10.2020 to 15.10.2020. A case FIR No. 190, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Dhanveer Verma R/o # 2079/D, Block No. 24, Sector-63, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stole away complainant’s Hero Honda Splendor pro M/Cycle No. PB10-DP-0773 from open parking of his residence on 15.10.2020. A case FIR No. 69, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-49, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Attempt to murder

A case FIR No. 197, U/S 307, 452, 506, 34 IPC has been registered in PS-36, Chandigarh on the complaint of Verind R/o # P-86, Sector-52, Teen Colony, Chandigarh who alleged that Rajesh @ Laeya, Vishal @ Billa, Rinku & Kapil assaulted and stabbed complainant at # P-99, Tin Colony, Sector-52, Chandigarh on 21.10.2020. Complainant got injuries and admitted in GMSH-16, Chandigarh. Later Rajesh @ Laeya R/o # P-38, Tin Colony, Sector-52, Chandigarh, Vishal @ Billa R/o # P-939, Tin Colony, Sector-52, Chandigarh, Rinku R/o # P-586, Tin Colony, Sector-52, have been arrested in this case. Investigation of case is in progress.

Chandigarh Traffic Police has launched a Public Awareness Mirror Book at Lyons Light Point near MC Office, Sector-17, Chandigarh.

Today i.e. 22.10.2020, Chandigarh Traffic Police has launched a Public Awareness Mirror Book at Lyons Light Point near MC Office, Sector-17, Chandigarh. The book has been launched by Sh. Manoj Kumar, IPS, Senior Superintendent of Police, Traffic & Security UT Chandigarh. During this function, Sh. S. P. S. Sondhi, DSP/Tr Admn, Mrs. Harjit Kaur, DSP/Tr South, Ms. Palak Goel, DSP/Tr Central and all zonal Traffic Inspectors were present. The motive of this book is to aware traffic rule violators and will be shown to the violators before issuing traffic challan in order to educate them about possible consequences of not following traffic rules and ensure better compliance of traffic rules by general public.

Major breakthrough the Crime Branch of Chandigarh Police

In a major breakthrough the Crime Branch of Chandigarh Police under the supervision of Insp. Harinder Sekhon , Insp. Satvinder Singh and with the close guidance of Sh. Ram Gopal, DSP Crime is able to arrest the Gang Members of Kali Shooter Gang and recovered 1 pistol, 1 desi Katta and 4 live cartridges.

Brief Facts

On 21.10.2020 a secret information that two persons who belongs to Kali Shooter Gang, also wanted in a case of attempt to murder of PS-Sohana were roaming in the area of Chandigarh to execute a major crime in Chandigarh. Acting upon this information a naka was laid down on the dividing road of Sector-50, near Sports complex near street light pole No.11, Chandigarh, in the mean time two persons sitting in Thar Jeep came there and were stopped, they tried to flee away, but were apprehended with the help of police officials. They disclosed their name as Summy S/o Sh. Sanjeet Kumar R/o # 87A, Shiva Enclave Phabhat, Zirakpur & Permanent address:- # 201 Jagat Pura Mohali PB and Shiv Shankar @ Sonu S/o Dulare Lal R/o Vill- Jagatpura Near Main Market Distt-Mohali Punjab. During the search of both one Pistol, .32 Bore & 03 live cartridges and one Desi Katta alongwith one live cartridge were recovered from the possession of them respectively. They were arrested and in this regard the above said case was got registered.

During the course of investigation it came on record that Summy and Shiv Shankar @ Sonu have tainted past and involved in Arms Act Case

  1. Summy was previously involved in total 2 cases i.e. 1 cases of Attempt to murder and 1 case of rioting of PS-Sohana.
  2. Shiv Shankar @ Sonu was involved in 1 case of attempt to murder of PS-Sohana.

All the accused were produced in the court and their 3 days police remand obtained. Investigation is still in progress.
