MOHALI,23.10.20-Shimla,the queen of the hills,is the capital city of Himachal Pradesh which perfectly sets out as its crown.

It was the favourite destination of colonial rulers and thus they kept it as the summer capital of British India.
Shimla has got its name from Shyamala Mata,a fearless incarnation of Goddess Kali whose temple is near The Ridge.Talking about some of the prominent places in Shimla,Ridge and Mall road are the most prominent ones featuring in many Indian movies.

The Mall is the main shopping street of Shimla where Indians were forbidden during colonial times.The Ridge is the largest open flat ground alongside the Mall road where second oldest church in the whole northern India is present. A towering national flag unfurling at The Ridge is a major attraction giving patriotic goosebumps.

Gaiety theatre,Jakhoo hills,Summer hills,Sanjauli,Mashobra and Naldehra are other attractive tourist spots in the area.Apart from these beautiful places,Kufri is another famous tourist spot which is famous for its ice rinks.

Many ice skating events take place in Kufri which attract both national and international participants.Shimla is a major tourist,commercial and educational hub of the state with each place having its own distinctive and rich history and beauty.
Keeping in mind all the points of a perfect tourist spot,Shimla definitely ticks off all the requisite boxes.
