MOHALI,18.10.20-Himachal Pradesh is known as 'Devbhoomi' being famous for its highly revered temples, justifying the title Baijnath temple in Kangra district has its own beauty and rich history associated with it.

Built in 1204 AD by two merchants Ahuka and Manyuka, this Nagara architectural style temple has its own magnificence. It is dedicated to Lord Shiva as Vaidyanath "Lord of physicians".

The temple walls are full of inscriptions and idols of Hindu deities.

The water of this temple is believed to be of medicinal value and has the potential to cure several illnesses and diseases.

This draws thousands of devotees from all around the world every year.It is the only place in India where both Shiva and Ravana are worshipped.

Dusshera is not celebrated in Baijnath town as respect to Ravana. It houses one of the 12 jyotirlingas,the pillars emanating pure light and power.This eminent temple is set in the backdrop of Dhauladhar ranges adding beauty to the magnificent Baijnath temple.
