SHIMLA -28 June, 2020-Governor Bandaru Dattatraya, today paid his floral tribute to the former Prime Minister of India, P.V. Narasimha Rao on the occasion of his birth centenary celebration at Raj Bhavan, today.

Officials of the Raj Bhavan also paid floral tribute to the former Prime Minister.

On the occasion, the Governor recalled the services of former Prime Minister and said he was not only a great politician but also an intellectual, a visionary and first among the Prime Ministers of the country who had brought forth reforms to streamline the economy of the country. He said that Shri Rao had brought a name to the positions while serving as the state Chief Minister, Central Minister and left a mark of his own as the Prime Minister of the country. He said that former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee took forward the reforms done by Shri Rao and today Prime Minister Narendra Modi was taking new steps in the direction of economic reform to take the country forward on the path of development.

Recollecting his relation with former Prime Minister, the Governor said that he had met the former PM several times as the Member of Parliament from Secunderabad, to submit a representation on various issues.
