Chandigarh, January 9, Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal said that it is matter of great pride that highly qualified youth have been recruited in the State police force and he is hopeful that the youth recruited in the new batch will play a vital role in completely eradicating corruption from the society. The Chief Minister was speaking at the passing out parade of the 86th batch of the police force after completing 10 months of intensive training at Haryana Police Academy Madhuban in Karnal.

While congratulating the 1647 female and male recruits, the Chief Minister urged them to diligently do their duty toward maintaining law and order and further improve the image of State Police force. On the request of Chief Minister, the recruits applied tilak of sand on their forehead of their institute where they have undergone training so as to express their gratitude towards their institution.

He said that it is a matter of great pride that the youth chose the police service to pursue a career as being in police force requires more dedication and responsibility towards the society. He said that being in police force one has to face challenging task of remaining on toes for a 24x7 hour duty.

Speaking on the number of women recruited in the police service, the Chief Minister said that it is commendable to see that how the recruitment percentage of women in the force has increased from 6 percent to 10 percent in last five years. He further shared that to empower women and to boost their morale, 29 women police stations have been opened in Haryana, which are doing their work efficiently.

He said that there is a big responsibility on the shoulders of police officers and employees because their job is not only to earn a livelihood, but there is a sense of social service in it.

Referring to the facilities provided by the government to the police department, he said that earlier there was no provision of leave for the police personnel, now they have been given one holiday a week. Apart from this, residential facilities for the police have also been increased. He said that the government has decided that about 5000 new police recruitment will be made every year so that the manpower in the police force can be adequate.

He said that the facility has been provided in the police department along with other departments that no employee has to take NOC to enhance his career, only to give information to his department.

Director General of Police Haryana Manoj Yadava greeted the Chief Minister on behalf of the entire police fraternity. He said that the police personnel present in today's passing out parade are the talented and have higher education and highly talented. There are 542 Post Graduate, 983 Graduate and 843 Matric pass outs.

ADGP CID, Mr. Anil Kumar Rao, ADGP, Mr. Shrikant Jadhav, SP Madhuban Mr. Waseem Akram, Deputy Commissioner, Mr. Nishant Kumar Yadav, Superintendent of Police Surender Kumar Bhoria and BJP District President , Mr. Jagmohan Anand were present on the occasion.
